Em had her first neighborhood Trick or Treating experience this Halloween. Lucky for her, Grandma and Grandpa were visiting and able to go out with her this year.
Em's first stop was at Mrs. Vicki's next door.
Em wanted to eat each piece of candy right away and she knew just who to go to for more.
All done and back home to spend some time with Mom and Dad.
Pap and Gram visited a few weeks ago and joined us on a trip to Lazy S Ranch. Em had a great time checking out the pumpkins, the corn pit and the animals. She even took time out to pose for a picture with Pap Pap.
We took Emmelyn to our downtown mall last Saturday for Trick or Treating. As you can see below, she wasn't the happiest little butterfly. There were over 500 people there and I think she was a bit overwhelmed. She still looks adorable though!
This is a picture of Emmelyn less than a year ago in December 2009...
This is a picture of Emmelyn in the same jacket last week. It is amazing to see how much she has changed, but also how little she has grown. The jacket is a size 18 months and she is still wearing it!
Jumpstart's Read for the Record was yesterday and Em's school all read The Snowy Day together. They all also had a special visitor come home with them...Peter! Em showed Peter around outside. They played ring around the rosy before taking a break on Em's bench.
On Sunday we had some time to go out and do one of my favorite Fall activities...buying our pumpkins and mums for our front porch. This year Em had a blast helping to pick out all of the pumpkins.
Emmelyn has already started to do chores around the house. She has a super cool chore chart and each time she completes a chore, she gets to put a sticker on her chart. She loves getting stickers. Some of her chores include taking off and putting her shoes away, helping with the dishes, feeding the dog and cleaning up her toys. Em recently filled up her first chore chart and earned a super cool prize - a brand new purple ladybug watch!
Em's putting the last sticker on her chore chart...
Em and I had a free day while Daddy was working on Saturday, so we decided to visit Aunt Becky in Washington, DC. We had planned to attend the National Book Festival, but missed most of it by the time we arrived downtown. It was also so hot, that we decided to cool down right away by getting some much needed ice cream. Em enjoyed her first push pop!
The highlight of Em's trip was the ducks in the reflecting pool. Do you think I could get Em to turn around so I could get a great picture of her in front of the capital? Heck no, she had ducks to see!
