Em had her A-game on that day, she was passed around more times than the collection basket in church that morning. Mommy spent about....hmmmm, I'd say at least three months searching for the perfect christening dress, and I'd say she found it! Great job Mommy, everyone raved about how beautiful she looked in that dress, but I think she could of worn anything and looked beautiful!

And wow, she did great! Em slept through most of the ceremony and wasn't even startled when the holy water was poured over her head, or when the oil was rubbed on her hands and forehead! She was a very happy baby that morning.....

...until the end of mass. At that point she decided she had enough. So fifteen minutes left, and it's like someone hit the fire alarm. So, we did what we usually do when that happens, hand her off to Grandpa S., a.k.a. The Baby Whisperer. For some reason my father has this ability (I'd even go as far as to call it a gift) to sooth fussy babies. Especially his granddaughter.

So there's Grandpa S. in the back of the church with Em who is beginning to drool on his suit and we needed her at the front of the church to close the mass. I stand up, run half way back, wave like an idiot and call Grandpa S. to the front. He rushes up to reluctantly hand over his granddaughter and as soon as she hits my arms, the crying starts up again...great, now I look like a bad Daddy in front of God and the entire church!
Well, needless to say we got through everything smoothly, and the gathering to celebrate such a great moment afterward went well too. Everyone enjoyed their time with Miss Em, and we thank each and every one of you for being such a big part of this great moment!

We love you all!!

Sorry we missed it, but I've been waiting to see pictures! So glad you posted them : )
