Swimmin' and Swingin'

Emmelyn had a big weekend this past weekend. On Saturday we were out most of the day and on Sunday we finally took her swimming for the first time. We have been wanting to take her for months since the doctor gave the okay, but just hadn't been able to make it to the pool. It's also tough for me to spend the money on admission to the pool when I knew she wouldn't last long, but it was worth it.

When we arrived we found out that the pool was on a "thunder break" so we had to wait for about 10 minutes before we could go swimming. Em was stylin' in her first ever swimsuit.

As you can see from the pictures below, Em was NOT happy about this whole swimming thing. I think the water may have been a little colder than what she was used to and she was a little surprised. She whined a bunch when she was in the water, but she did much better than I expected she would. I think she will do fine if we keep practicing. She only has 6 more weeks before her first beach trip to the Outer Banks, so we need to keep at it!

After "swimming" for about 15 minutes, we thought Em had reached her limit. We got her changed into her dry clothes and found something she really liked...

...her first SWING in a park swing! She was a little small for the baby swing still, but we added a few towels and she did fine. She even laughed out loud. We are definitely going to get a baby swing for our backyard ASAP!
