Finally!

Wow! It has been a pretty hectic week! I have not had even a second to update so I'll just jump right in. I went in for my egg retrieval last Thursday. It was a pretty good experience. I had the best nurse and I felt like I was in a hotel. As I started to wake up after the procedure, I was still a little groggy. The nurse was talking to me and told me that we had broken the practice's record for the most number of eggs and that they were still counting them!

As I continued to wake up, I thought for sure that I had imagined her saying this, but that was not the case! They retrieved 27 eggs! We found out the next day that 24 of those eggs fertilized and that 17 of them were still going strong on Friday. We haven't been able to get an update yet on the number we still have, but we should find out today.

I go in an hour and a half from now for the implant! Brett and I are both excited to find out how many embryos we will have left to freeze. Hopefully, the big number in the beginning is a good sign. I will be on bed rest for the next 48 hours and I have to say that I'm looking forward to just relaxing a bit.

This has been an excruciatingly slow process this go around and I'm sure it will be even harder over the next 2 weeks as we wait for results. We will be traveling a good bit within the next few weeks though, so maybe that will keep us distracted.
